Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year people. Hope you guys get a better year ahead!

Cheers,
Sherlyn.

Goodbye My Friend.

We've known for more than 2 years. He was a great guy, always joking, patient, friendly and has traits of a simple and genuine friend. He's also a mentor to me when I enter Lighthouse.

He's none other than my Senior Designer - Fauzie Rasid.

He was a friend, someone I will hang out with in gyms some times, motivating each other to be healthier for ourselves, and for our families. We also will have iced Milo together after that to catch up on lives. He quit smoking and ate healthily for he wants to be healthy and watch his children grow up. He always reserve the best for his family, even if that means he has to settle less for himself. He never complain of what he gets, but work hard to get better.

He taught me things about InDesign and PDF, helped me cleared a lot of workload when I could possibly take them over and not trouble him. He did his best to not burden us with his stuffs, and always doing his very best to produce the best artwork he could. He's impressive, and his hard work often paid off with clients coming back to us to praise his work.

He's an inspiration to us, but often, to be honest, us being humans always overlook it and took him for granted. He was the most hardworking person I've ever met, and so genuine that I really treated him like a brother of my own.

But he left us too soon. Some called it a freak accident, but I believe it's an act of God. God probably wanted him back because he's too nice, and had went through enough. His leaving taught us a very harsh but true lesson.

On Tuesday morning, 38 of us took a coach, went through the customs and got to Johor Bahru to send him off the last time. We were very saddened by how he left us, but we could only hope he passed out before he felt all the pain that could have happened to him.

Seeing his elderly parents, loving wife and children, it was really devastating. They loved him so much, much more than we do, and yet had to surrender him helplessly back to God. But life is like this, unpredictable and short, isn't it?

As his friend and his colleague, I only can learn to accept that he won't be coming back to us anymore and try my best to achieve what he wanted to but couldn't. I believe he will look over his family and take care of them from up above.

Fauz (abang!), you will be missed badly. I will never forget you as a great and genuine person in my life. Take care up there.

Honeymoon - Part 1

Honeymoon Part 1- Hong Kong

Hong Kong

Travelling Period: 1st to 4th October
Weather: Pretty warm, but much cooler than in Singapore. About 24°C to 28°C

Hong Kong was our first stop and we had an awesome time trying all kinds of food. And having a friend who is very well-oriented in Hong Kong is a bonus! He gave us clear directions, sometimes bringing us to the place personally to try out the delicacies which are commonly patronised by the locals.

When it comes to food, we all know, words can't tell the story fully, but photos do. Best is to try it out yourself when you are there!

Mrs. Tan

I'm now officially a Missus. Married in September, it's been a month. Not much difference in my lifestyle yet, but I can feel the difference between my husband and me - the expression of love.

It was a long while before the actual wedding day. It took us one and a half year to get everything settled and on that day, it felt so surreal. Everything happened so quickly, and all we did was to smile and follow the timeline told to us by our friends who were helping us out.

It was a beautiful experience, even though very tedious and some minor things triggered us to fight a little. That kind of experience made us appreciate and know each other better. I'm grateful.

Alright. I've uploaded some pictures online for future browsing. Hope you can view them too and enjoy the photos as much as we do.

The album consists of things we love to do, places we love to go and how we usually enjoy each other's company.

Ending 2015

This year ended well. Many ups and downs, as usual. Most iconically, I'm engaged since February.

1. My Family
My family has been well. We had several birthday parties this year because there's kinda baby boom in the family and that's great news! These kids are so adorable, seriously. And also we had our yearly Christmas party, this year slightly different - with a roasted pig. LOL! Hope all of us will continue to be healthy, happy and always well taken care of.

2. My Love
Like I've mentioned, I'm engaged since February. I'm still madly in love, and pretty busy with lots of stuffs, like my wedding that's happening next year, and my new house that's coming in the year after next. Things are going smoothly for us both, and I hope it will continue to be smooth-sailing. I love you baby, and thank you for every little things you did for me this year.

3. My Friends
Pineapple is gonna be 80% married by next year. 3 out of 5 of us are getting married in 2016 - how coincidental that is. This bring us closer because we can discuss more stuffs now together, while the married one contributes and the unmarried one learning the rope. :P Met up with few friends whom I haven't met for quite a while. More of them getting married, attached, and enjoying their lives like travelling around the globe while they can. Some changed jobs, some graduated, some still status quo. But no matter what, I hope you guys can achieve what you were aiming for in life. Take care of yourself.

3. My Work-Friends
We are friends, and colleagues too. No matter what our "relationship" is stated as, I still care as a friend ok.

I've joined Lighthouse for a year and a half and I'm glad I did. It's not like I hated my previous job. I also couldn't bear to leave my team in the previous employment because the people there are awesome. But there are too many realistic goals and duties in life that I must abide to, hence the "tearful" leaving.

Currently in Lighthouse, I also love my team, my fellow comrades who we fought our "war" together. We work hard together, drink hard together and HTHT together anywhere from our desk to the rooftop over a couple bottles of beer. A kind of bond which I find amazing. Let's continue to aim for our targets and work real hard together!!! CHEERS!!!

There are too many people in my life whom I'm grateful to. You don't have to be mentioned every second or in every post to know how dearly I hold you in my heart. Fit yourself into one of the 4 categories above and you shall find peace.

Goodbye 2015, Hello 2016. Let's all work hard, play harder. Cheers!

JQJP Proposal

My 2015 started well. With a good proposal on 20th February 2015.

I'm ENGAGED!
He proposed, with a ring pop. Unexpected to have someone proposing to me with this. LOL!

Anyway, being a realistic being, I cried and asked where's my real ring, and he shift the ring pop from the actual ring finger to the right-hand side, then took out the ring box, and finally I see my real ring! I just kept crying and we hugged for the longest time.

It doesn't matter how big / small / cheap / expensive is the ring. It matters more who took the effort and tried his best to give you all he's got.

I love you Mr Tan, my fiancé.

Accomplishments - 2014

2014 - So many things were done and it's not the same as at least the past 5 years. Definitely is a year worth remembering more than any others...

1. Went on the FIRST EVER pineapple trip to Phuket!
I love these girls and finally, we fulfiled to the wish of having a graduation trip to gether after I'm officially graduated from my degree. I'm the last in the group to graduate, so poor girls had to wait so long for it. LOL!

2. Printed first photobook
Why waste money print this? No! It was free! It was a free groupon which I've purchased, hence printed our first trip together to Bali and kept it as a memory.

- - -

3. Helped Zhishan receive the token of appreciation.
I have not joined the team for very long, but they gave me the opportunity to receive the token on behalf of the group. This is a group of people who give much more than anyone else that I've know and did our best to help others who need it so much more. They gave me a chance to receive the token and that gave me a sense of achievement and satisfaction to be part of them.

Thanks to them, I've learnt a lot about accepting and appreciating.

4. Went to BRUNO MARS concert with my love.
The first concert we've been to together. We bought free-standing tickets, and the star was really small on stage, but that did not dampen to mood to be there! We enjoyed the concert very much - the voice, the program and the company.

- - -

5. Officially graduated from UniSIM Part Time Degree Course
I know last year I've mentioned this, but that was when I got my results. This time, it's the transcripts and certificate! AWESOME!!! Too bad love and mamee could not join us in the celebration, but it's still enjoyable after all!

- - -

6. First time to Sydney, Australia!
It's our first trip to an "angmoh" country and it was really chilly. I now wonder if I can ever tolerate the cold in countries that have winter. brrrr~ Nonetheless, a great experience walking around most of the time and eating a lot!

7. Escaped from my "comfort zone" after 7 years.
This company had kept me in its embrace for 7 long years. It's really hard to let go and move on, but everyone has a time to move on to a better place, right? Thank you these awesome people who are so kind, lovely, and knowledgeable in their own ways. I will still miss you guys, and please still ask me out once in a while...

- - -

8. New job, new people in life and new challenges.
I'm so charged, after 2 weeks of being jobless, and I'm so enthusiastic, because everything's new! I will be better, stronger and more awesome! :D

- - -

9. Kids Love These.
I love these too! Love had decided to venture on something that's completely new to him, and I'm gonna give my all to support him. If you guys are interested in buying any kids apparel, do take a look at his facebook and carousell pages! Please sarpork!

- - -

10. I'm a licensed driver!
Was expecting to achieve a one-time pass for my practical test, since my theory ones are both one-time pass. But unfortunaly, after spending near $1800, two tests, then I finally GOT MY LICENSE!!! Now it's the waiting-for-the-real-license-to-come time.

- - -

Major milestones are the graduation from Degree, getting my driving license and travelling. I'm so proud to achieve so much this year, and may next year be exciting and awesome too!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! STAY HEALTHY & HAPPY, PEOPLE!!!
